Designed as a volunteer for the East Bayside Neighborhood Organization in Portland, Maine this pavilion was intended to be a gathering space within the Fox Field Food Forest, an urban permaculture garden for the community, by the community. Using tree canopies as inspiration, the pavilion uses slender cedar posts and timber frame joints to support a steel and cedar lattice work on which kiwi vine or another species could grow and create shade.
